COPE Campout - Sept 23-25, 2016

7 days and counting until our Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (COPE) at Adventure Park in Virginia Beach.  

Preliminary Itinerary:

1.      19 September : Pre meeting will occur after the Court of Honor and will require the scouts to break into 2 patrols of 6, meal plans and duty assignments need to be done.  The adult crew will meet to see if we can collapse to ?4 vehicles and will need a grub master volunteer.  Gear pick up will be this night (any tents and chuck boxes need to go with the patrols).  I would everyone to pack everything into a hiking 
backpack so we can shakedown before out October AT hike.
2.      24 September, 1700 meet at Christ the King, load vehicles and divide scouts to vehicles.  (Either pre-eat or bring a bag dinner for the trip)
3.      24 September, 1900, camp set up and cracker barrel.
4.      25 September – Adventure Park load out at 0740 to arrive at 0800
5.      Afternoon scout activities will be planned by the scout POC: Brandon Chu and the patrol leaders (?Chris B, Garrison)
6.      26 September – depart Trav-L-Park 0830 with planned arrival at 1000 at Tabb Elementary school.

Directions to Trav-L-Park (expect 1:40 minutes with traffic):
Follow I-64 E through the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel
Take exit 284A E toward VA Beach
Take exit 22 for Birdneck Rd toward Oceanfront Alt Route
Turn right onto Birdneck Road
Turn right on General Booth Boulevard
Holiday Trav-L-Park will be 0.2 miles on the right
We have campsite # 1104-6

Q: What clothing should I wear? A: Wear well-fitting clothing that won’t hang loose or get tangled in cables or ropes. We advise tying back long hair and removing all jewelry. Sneakers or hiking shoes are recommended. Flip-flops, sandals and open-toed/heeled shoes are not acceptable.
Q: Can I do all the trails? A:If you are under 14 years old at the time of the campout, Blue and Black trails may require adult supervision
